Privacy Policy

Rankd ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Rankd mobile application. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using Rankd, you agree to the practices described here.

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, date of birth, and US state of residence. Date of birth is collected solely to verify that you are 18 years of age or older.

Gameplay data: We collect your daily rankings, predictions, points earned, win/loss history, and streak data to operate the game and display leaderboards.

Transaction data: When you purchase tokens, we collect records of the transaction amount, token bundle purchased, and timestamp. We do not store full card numbers — payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe.

Device information: We may collect device type and OS version for debugging and crash reporting purposes.

We use your information to: operate and improve the Rankd app; verify age eligibility (18+); process token purchases and payouts; calculate and display leaderboard standings; send optional push notifications about daily prompts and results; comply with applicable laws.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Supabase — We use Supabase to store and manage user accounts and gameplay data. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II compliant. See supabase.com/privacy.

Stripe — All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. Stripe is PCI DSS compliant. We never store your full credit card number. See stripe.com/privacy.

Expo — The app is built with Expo (React Native). Expo may collect anonymized crash and performance data. See expo.dev/privacy.

Rankd is strictly for users 18 years of age or older. We collect date of birth at signup to verify eligibility and do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, their account will be immediately deleted.

Rankd does not comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) because the app is strictly 18+ and not directed at children. Any account found to belong to a user under 18 will be immediately terminated.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@playrankd.app with the subject line “Delete my account.” We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Note that transaction records may be retained as required for tax and financial compliance purposes.

We may send push notifications about daily prompts, game results, streak reminders, and account activity including prize winnings. You can disable notifications at any time through your device's Settings app or within the Rankd app under Settings.

If you win a monthly prize, we are required to collect your full legal name, date of birth, and Social Security Number for tax reporting purposes (IRS Form 1099-MISC for winnings over $600). This information is collected only at the time of prize claim and is handled securely through Stripe.

Winners who do not provide this information within 60 days forfeit their prize per the Official Rules.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, California residents have the right to: know what personal data we collect; request deletion of personal data; opt out of sale of personal data (we do not sell personal data); non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure authentication via Supabase Auth, and row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of Rankd after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
